Participatory Tourism

There are a variety of opportunities for visitors to volunteer in the community, such as managing nature trails, volunteering at the local library, teaching English at the elementary school, painting murals, planning and executing activities for local youth, and building infrastructure.

There are currently two ongoing projects that need support: building a roof over the basketball court to create a versatile community space, and constructing a trail, welcome center, and classroom for environmental education.

Volunteer Opportunities

• Cultural Immersion: Improve your Spanish and make friends by staying with a host family ($30/day, meals included)
• Independent Lodging: Rent cabins while participating in community projects
• Volunteering: Trail management, library, English teaching, mural painting, youth activities, and infrastructure construction
