How to Get Here
Located in the heart of the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica, 15km east of Drake Bay and 15km west of Rincon. About 60 minutes by car from Puerto Jimenez.
Take Route 27 toward the Pacific coast and turn onto Route 34 (Costanera Sur). Pass through Jacó, Quepos, and Uvita to reach Palmar Norte.

San José to Palmar Norte via the Southern Coastal Highway
Take Route 27 toward the Pacific coast and turn onto Route 34 (Costanera Sur). Along the way, you will pass through Jacó, Quepos, and Uvita before reaching Palmar Norte. -

From Palmar Norte to Chacarita
At Palmar Norte, join the Southern Inter-American Highway (Route 2) and drive for about 30 minutes to the Chacarita intersection. -

From Chacarita to Rincon via Route 245
At Chacarita, you will see a large gas station on your right, locally known as Bomba Osa. Turn right at the station onto Route 245 and continue toward Rincon. You do not need to go to Puerto Jimenez; turn right toward Drake Bay and Rancho Quemado just before the Rincon Bridge. -

From Rincon to Rancho Quemado
When you reach Rincon, turn right immediately before the Rincon Bridge and follow the signs to Drake Bay until you reach Rancho Quemado.
*Note: the turn is before the Rincon Bridge.

San Carlos terminal in San José
Take the 12:00pm bus at the San Carlos terminal in San José (Autotransportes Blanco Lobo S.A.). The bus goes to Puerto Jiménez, but you must get off earlier, in Rincon. Ask the driver to let you off there. -

From Rincon to Rancho Quemado by bus
From Rincon, take the 4:45pm bus to Rancho Quemado.
Approximate time: 9.5 hours

Head towards La Palma
Head northwest towards La Palma. -

Cross the Rincon Bridge
Shortly after La Palma you will approach Rincon. Immediately after the Rincon Bridge, take a left and follow the signs leading to Drake Bay. -

Arrival at Rancho Quemado
After about 15km you will arrive in Rancho Quemado.

Take a bus which goes to La Palma. -

From La Palma to Rancho Quemado
Buses leave La Palma for Rancho and Drake Bay at 11:30am and 4:30pm every day except Sunday. You can also find a taxi in La Palma to take you to Rancho.
Approximate time: 90 minutes
If coming from the mainland, take a boat from Sierpe to Drake Bay (Agujitas) and then continue by road to Rancho Quemado.

Reach Sierpe and board a boat bound for Drake Bay. -

Arrival at Agujitas (Drake Bay)
Disembark in the town of Agujitas. -

From Drake Bay to Rancho Quemado
Take public transport (leaves at 4:00am from the Ice Cream Store in the middle of town) or follow the main road out of town by car for 15km until you reach Rancho Quemado.
